2022 NATA Foundation Silent Auction
presented by The Korey Stringer Institute
Online: June 1 – July 1

The NATA Research & Education Foundation’s Silent Auction has grown to be one of our largest fundraising events of the year. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the NATA Foundation’s revenue has decreased more than 40%. To continue advancing the AT profession through our research, education and professional development programs – We need your support!

Please consider participating in our silent auction by donating items. This year our auction will be online and all items will be displayed “virtually” at our Booth in the AT Expo during the annual NATA Convention in Philadelphia. We will need all items at the NATA office or an indication of delivery to the winning bidder by May 1st.  Then, from June 1 – July 1, bid early and often on these great items, such as autographed memorabilia, apparel, textbooks, unique items and more!

Please view the 2022 Silent Auction Item Donation Packet for more information on how to donate.

Free Communications Presentations

Free Communications is often the first chance an AT gets to present their research and clinical case studies on a topic during the NATA convention. To date, more than 8,000 oral and poster presentations have been provided through this program. The Free Communications program provides a forum for researchers and clinicians to disseminate research and clinical case studies. Abstracts selected by the Committee are published in the Supplement to the Journal of Athletic Training and are presented at the NATA Convention via oral or digital poster presentation.

Digital poster presentations will be available this year digitally in the NATA 2022 On-Demand platform. In-person registration includes access to NATA 2022 On-Demand (no additional CEUs).

NATA Foundation Grant Writing Workshop

The NATA Foundation is bringing together a nationally recognized group of mentors that have obtained success with external funding agencies to maximize the chance of research funding for athletic training investigators. This 2-hr workshop provides the expertise and support to improve funding successes by providing guidance on 1) the development of a scientific aims page, 2) understanding the review process, and 3) selecting the appropriate grant mechanism/agency. The target audience for this workshop includes junior and mid-level athletic training researchers that are on the cusp of success but could benefit from expert mentorship in grant development. Post-doctoral fellows and doctoral candidates who are transitioning to faculty positions are also encouraged to register to attend.

The centerpiece of the workshop will include small group specific aims mentorship to maximize the chance of success. Attendees will be expected to come prepared to share and receive feedback on the specific aims for a grant proposal for submission to the NATA Foundation, NIH, DoD, and other agencies funding athletic training research.

Space is limited; participants will be invited to the session on a “first come, first served” basis.  Registration is required.   Please complete the registration form via the link below.  A confirmation email will be provided within 48 hours. If the event is sold out, you will be notified and placed on a waiting list.  NATA Foundation staff will reach out to you if space becomes available.

NATA Foundation Distinguished Scholars Presentation

The Distinguished Scholars Presentation provides athletic trainers with an opportunity to learn about cutting edge research from other health care professionals. It also allows members from these groups to benefit from athletic training speakers who represent the profession by giving presentations at their annual meetings.
This session has two components. The first consists of presentations by our exchange lecturers who represent:

  • The American College of Sports Medicine
  • The American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, and
  • The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine
