NATA Research & Education Foundation Pronouncements Committee

The mission of the NATA Foundation Pronouncements Committee is to develop, write and publish position statements relevant to advancing the Athletic Training profession. Position statements are scientifically based, peer reviewed research written by a team of authors who are experts on the relevant field. The NATA Foundation’s Pronouncements Committee works with the NATA to develop these position statements based on educational, clinical and/or professional needs.

Position Statement Topic Submission

*NEW* topics will be received all year (rolling submission). Topics can be submitted by athletic trainers.
This is not the location for the suggestion to update an already existing topic. The Pronouncements Committee has a process in-place to review and update current position statements

Additional information to consider before submitting a new topic:

  • A position statement is a set of practice recommendations based on a scientifically based, peer-reviewed research synthesis from a team of authors who are subject matter experts.
  • The Pronouncements Committee will review all topic submissions. The committee meets at quarterly intervals.  The Pronouncements Committee will notify the submitter of their decision.
  • Topics must be focused and written within an appropriate page limit. Topics that span many domains, aspects, and genres are discouraged.
  • If the topic is chosen for further development, there is no guarantee that you will ultimately be a member of the writing group.
