This initiative is made possible through the generous support of the National Basketball Athletic Trainers Association Foundation, whose commitment to advancing the athletic training profession continues to make a profound difference. This scholarship is designed to provide substantial, multi-year support to students pursuing a professional degree in athletic training. Awarding $20,000 over two years ($10,000 annually), the scholarship will help cover essential expenses including tuition, fees, books and supplies. By easing financial burdens, the NBATA Foundation Scholarship empowers students to focus on their education and professional development with greater confidence and stability. Who Should Apply? This scholarship is specifically targeted to Pre-AT students—those entering the first year of a CAATE-accredited professional athletic training program. The goal is to support future athletic trainers from the very start of their academic journey and to provide assistance based on financial need. Timeline and Eligibility – 2025 Award Application Opens: early June 2025 Application Deadline: June 30, 2025 Award Announcement: Fall 2025 (pending application volume) Eligibility Criteria: Program Status: Must be entering Year 1 of a CAATE-accredited professional athletic training program between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025. Proof of enrollment will be required if awarded. Academic Standing: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale).
