Background of Foundation

The NATA Research & Education Foundation was established in 1991 as a separate 501(c)3 tax exempt organization to support and advance the athletic training profession through research and education. Since that time, the Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in undergraduate and graduate scholarships. As a result, more than 1,000 students have been able to advance their education.

And the organization’s support does not stop after graduation. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $2.9 million in research grants. The studies funded by the Foundation provide invaluable information for public relations initiatives, educational purposes and additional research.

Without research, the profession will not continue to advance. Bottom Line – The Foundation’s work benefits EVERY athletic trainer and EVERY company associated with the profession. The Foundation leadership is dedicated to continuing this good work and elevating the status of the profession.
